The 5 best add-ons for your outdoor kitchen

An outdoor kitchen offers an enormous number of possibilities! That can make choosing tricky. Will I use it? How much space will it take up? And, of course, most importantly: what suits you best? With so many options, it's easy to lose sight of the wood for the trees. Fortunately, we've built up quite a few years of experience by now and have seen what lots of people do and don't find handy in an outdoor kitchen! To help you on your way, we've listed some of our most popular and practical options so you can get some inspiration!

A sink for convenience

Let's start with something practical! Of course, cooking up a storm in the open air is wonderful, but when you're done you'll naturally need to tidy up and wash up too! Imagine you've just cooked dinner for eight, had a fantastic time in the back garden, but when your guests head home again it's time to clear up.

Tidying up is never the most fun part of a party like that, of course, and a group that size certainly leaves quite a bit of washing-up behind. You could, of course, carry everything to your kitchen indoors, which probably means walking back and forth several more times; or you take it just a few steps to the outdoor kitchen with sink in no time at all!

That way you can carry on enjoying the fresh air and don't have to stand washing up in a crowded kitchen. You'll also have a tap close by straight away, in case you need water, whether to drink or to cook with. That's how you really get the most out of your outdoor kitchen!

Your outdoor kitchen enhanced with a kamado

One of our most popular add-ons for the outdoor kitchen is the outdoor kitchen with a kamado! A clay oven originally based on the Japanese 'Mushi Kamado'. It's made of high-quality ceramic which, combined with its sleek egg-shaped design, makes it one of the best-performing barbecues of its kind. This exceptionally special barbecue can handle temperatures from 70 to as much as 350 degrees, which gives you a whole range of options.

Whether you want to grill a piece of meat, bake potatoes, cook some fish or bake bread, the kamado can genuinely do it all. And it doesn't stop there! There are also extras available for the kamado, such as a pizza stone, a heat-resistant pan, a cast-iron grate or a heat deflector for indirect cooking.

Cleaning this grill master is done in no time too; with a little wire brush you'll be finished in a flash! Besides being super practical and functional, a kamado is also a fantastic aesthetic addition to your outdoor kitchen.

Outdoor kitchen with a fridge

Of course, no outdoor kitchen is complete without a fridge! It saves you loads of walking, dragging and carrying. And yes, naturally there are plenty of options to choose from here as well. The most common choice is the worktop-height fridge. In it you can chill a few drinks and soft drinks, as well as some vegetables, meat, fish or other fresh produce you need for cooking. If you enjoy the occasional glass of wine, we'd also definitely recommend fitting a wine fridge in your kitchen.

In a wine fridge the temperature is usually kept between 8 and 18 degrees, which can be adjusted depending on the type of wine you want to keep in stock. Most of our standard models are therefore equipped with a sink and one or sometimes even two fridges (one of which is a wine fridge). A fridge in your outdoor kitchen saves you a good few metres walking back and forth indoors to fetch drinks and snacks for you and your dinner guests.

You also don't have to keep running inside to fetch ingredients for dinner; everything is neatly ready within arm's reach to be turned into your culinary masterpiece.

Gas burners in your outdoor kitchen

Dinner in the back garden doesn't always have to mean firing up the grill or barbecue straight away. Sometimes it's just nice to cook outside on an ordinary gas hob. That's why we think a few gas burners are a must in your gas outdoor kitchen! That way you can cook in a 'normal' way and still keep enjoying your company.

It's also handy, of course, that if there's barbecuing going on as well, you can get sauces, aperitifs and side dishes on the table in no time while keeping an eye on the barbecue/kamado. That way you can be sure the meat won't burn! And it's simply lovely to be able to sit outside together with the family or your loved ones while the cooking is going on. That way an ordinary dinner soon becomes something special!

Outdoor kitchen with a barbecue

A traditional barbecue is of course never a bad thing to have in your outdoor kitchen! The best-known form of grilling, integrated into your own outdoor kitchen. Whether you want to slow-roast, grill a steak or cook some fish, you can never go wrong with a traditional barbecue. Easy to use and easy to maintain! Nine times out of ten, a garden party or meal in the back garden revolves around a tasty barbecue meal, so this one certainly deserves a place on our list! Especially in combination with a few gas burners, it makes the outdoor kitchen complete.

That way you can make anything you like for an elaborate dinner in the open air. Grill a piece of meat or some vegetables on the barbecue while you get on with everything else alongside, or pour drinks for your guests! These barbecues are also surprisingly easy to clean and are made only from high-quality metal. So you can focus with peace of mind on what matters most: enjoying your own outdoor kitchen and serving up some fantastic meals for yourself, your family and your friends!

All in all, there are plenty of ways to extend and personalise your outdoor kitchen and make sure you have all the bells and whistles for the best possible cooking experience. Whether that's with a kamado, a fridge, a sink or gas burners, it's all possible with us!
